Driving Lessons & Road Test Rates
Canandaigua Driving School utilizes Samsara rear and forward-facing dash cams. The primary uses of cameras are to assist in the Protection and Safety of Persons, Property, Prevention or Detection of Criminal Offenses, Defense of Legal Claims, and most importantly, Driver Training. It is not Canandaigua Driving School’s intended purpose to use dash cams for monitoring students. These dash cams record only video. No audio is recorded. A complete dash cam policy is available upon request.
Single Lesson
$90-$110+ per lesson
A 60 minute course that provides one-on-one instruction. This single lesson is great for student who need an evaluation before their road exam. This lesson is also great if you need to refresh on parallel parking or any other maneuver. One of our qualified instructors will discuss your needs and help you determine which packed is right for you. We cover all the key points that you will be tested on during your road exam.
$375-$455+ per package
This package is great for semi-experienced new drivers who are looking to hone their skills before their exam. We cover all the key points that you will be tested on during your road exam. This package includes 3 one hour lessons in addition to a 45 minute warm-up the day of the road exam as well as use of our vehicle for the student’s exam. Single lessons are also available for purchase should a student require additional lesson in addition to their package.
$545-$665+ per package
This package is designed for the new driver with little to no experience. Throughout the 5 lessons our instructors will cover all the key points that you will be tested on during your road exam. This package includes 5 one hour lessons in addition to a 45 minute warm-up the day of the road exam as well as use of our vehicle for the student’s exam. Just as with the 3 lesson package there are always single lessons available for purchase.
5 Hour Pre-Licensing Class
This is a DMV-approved, standardized classroom course. This course provides knowledge you will need as a new driver. The course covers many important topics, including, but not limited to:
– Driving on the highway
– Defensive driving skills
– Aggressive Driving
– Alcohol, other drugs and impaired driving
Once you have successfully completed the course, you will be given a Pre-licensing Course Certificate (MV-278). You must have this certificate in order to schedule your road exam. You must bring the original certificate to your road test to turn in to the license examiner.
This course is held Online Only on Saturdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm or on Thursdays from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. The course costs $50.00 which is payable through the website with either Card or PayPal. You must be 16 or older and possess a valid New York State Learners permit to take this course.
6 Hour Defensive Driving Class Online
Point & Insurance Reduction Course
The completion of this course can provide up to a 10% reduction, for 3 years, of the motorist’s liability, no-fault and collision insurance premiums. Your discount is awarded on your current policy. You do not have to change your insurer or insurance agent. This final discount will be determined by your insurance agency.
There are even benefits for if you have a traffic ticket. The New York Defensive Driving course can provide up to a 4-point reduction on your driving record.
This online defensive driving course is approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and provided by the Empire Safety Council.
